Exporting
How do I export an Assembly to DaVinci Resolve?
Choose Resolve XML for a timeline with audio.
Open your Assembly or a single interview and choose Export.
Choose Paper Edit Assembly or Single Interview Transcript Edit.
Choose DaVinci Resolve XML to export the editable timeline with linked audio tracks.
In Resolve, use File > Import Timeline > Import AAF, EDL, XML and select the downloaded XML.
Relink original source media as needed, then inspect the resulting cuts and audio.
How to do it
- Takefold uses a legacy XML interchange format supported by Resolve, even though the format is sometimes called Final Cut Pro 7 XML. This does not require a Mac or Final Cut Pro.
- The separate Resolve EDL option is a simple video-only CMX 3600 cut list. It requires matching source frame rates, supports 23.976/24/25/29.97/30 fps and is intended for simpler conforming. XML is recommended for everyday interview editing. The Resolve import workflow still requires live testing.
