About Takefold
Australian-made. Built by editors, for editors.
Takefold is Australian-made software developed by Angus Ashton Film, an Australian video production and software development company.
We built it around a familiar part of interview editing: spending hours searching recordings and transcripts for the right selects, then organising quotes into a story. Takefold helps editors find and arrange those moments without having to do so much of the searching and sorting by hand.
We also wanted to give clients a more direct part in shaping their films. Instead of sending a long list of timestamps or notes by email, clients can suggest quotes, put together their own proposed story arc and discuss individual passages with the editor.
That is the idea behind Takefold: less manual work finding selects for editors, and a clearer way for clients to help develop the story. Both can work from the same interview material, while the editor stays in control of the working cut.
